Restless Legs Syndrome
Attention Deficit
Disorder
|
Restless Legs Syndrome appears to be a global
pandemic, and ADHD is not far behind. The constant agitation caused by RLS, and the
cost to one's life caused by inattention, absent-mindedness and klutzy behaviour cannot be
comprehended or measured. That both can be caused by ordinary foods amounts to a tragedy. It has been known that RLS and ADHD share a common biology. But not
so well known is that each 'disorder' has its own dietary origin, and many folks may be
living with this dietary double-whammy, managing it with medication, yet totally
ignorant of its root cause.
Very briefly, phytochemicals in our foods compromise
the enzymes that manage the neurotransmitters dopamine, noradrenaline, and acetylcholine.
The resulting neurochemical imbalance will cause RLS, attention problems,
hyperactivity, ennui, depression, fatigue and even migraine headaches. Medications
of course can bring blessed relief, but so much more desirable is prevention. The book
explains how and which seemingly ordinary food elements are involved, how you can
establish your personal sensitivity, and how to achieve relief by a simple diet shift.
The book explains the biology of how foods
can alter behaviour. However, you won't need a science degree as it is written in plain
language. It is also practical and therefore fairly compact (considering the subject
matter), so you are unlikely to be bored or bogged down by the tedium of having to read
irrelevant details. You can read a few chapters now at Lulu.com by clicking on 'Preview.'
RESTLESS LEGS SYNDROME
The
irresistible urge to move the legs (also known as the Elvis legs) can be seen in
classrooms, boardrooms, TV shows, restaurants, and long-haul flights. The agitation
can be relieved by moving or standing up. RLS will compromise your work, concentration and
sleep.Although it is widely regarded as an incurable neurological disorder, it can
be entirely diet-related, although age and genetics will also determine individual
sensitivity.

ATTENTION DEFICIT, HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER
Adults are often impatient,
rushed, fidgety, can't relax, over-react to stress, easily bored, distracted,
absent-minded, and tune-out during conversations, meetings or lectures. The condition will
compromise your peace of mind and enjoyment of life, and at its worst it will adversely
affect your career and your relationships. Symptoms may include depression and migraine
headaches.

RESTLESS LEGS? RESTLESS MIND? It could be something you ate,
profiles the biological basis of dietary-induced RLS and ADHD, explains their relatedness,
which compounds are responsible, and offers a simple, practical solution.
